Honda's Cheapest Car Brio Launch Watch It Live!

Honda Siel India Cars is all set to launch the new Brio hatchback today. The diminutive hatchback which was scheduled to be launched in India much earlier was delayed due to the destructive earthquake and Tsunami that struck Japan. Honda had already launched the Brio in Malaysia.

The Honda Brio will be the Japanese carmaker's new entry level model replacing the Jazz. Expected to be priced just above Rs.3 lakhs, the Brio will mark a visible shift in strategy from Honda. Honda always maintained a premium image through its design and pricing. But with sales declining in the established markets of Europe and America, Honda set its eye on improving its sales in India.

As a first step towards increasing its sales, Honda reduced the price of the face-lifted Jazz hatchback by more than Rs.1.75 lakhs. But by launching the Brio in India, Honda will set a new benchmark. The Brio will be competing against a long list of entry level hatchbacks including the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Hyundai i10, Ford Figo and Toyota Etios Liva.
