BMW Launches Premium Selection Used Car Business

BMW has said its used car business is expected to grow and contribute to 10 per cent of its sales. India's leading luxury car maker BMW has already sold more than 8,000 cars and will soon open seven premium Selection showrooms across the country. The cars sold here will not be older than five years and would not have run above 1,20,000 kilometres.
The BMW Premium Selection showrooms will have pre-owned BMW cars that have been checked and certified by the German carmaker. BMW India chief Anddreas Schaaf while speaking about Premium Selection said buyers can have a used BMW that is still in top notch condition for a price that is surprisingly low. A BMW 3-Series sedan that costs RS.24 lakhs can be bought for as low as Rs.16 lakhs when it is three years old at a Premium Selection Showroom.
Mr Schaaf while speaking to reporters after the launch of the used car business said: “Till October this year we have sold a total of 8,042 cars in India, accounting for 40 per cent of the luxury car market. With the BMW Premium Selection, we are looking to enhance position. We expect the used car business to be about 10 per cent of new car sales."
BMW is planning to increase the number of Premium Selection Showrooms in the coming years. BMW is offering a 13 per cent financing rate to its used car buyers through its BMW Financial Services. BMW will also offer a two year warranty or up to 200,000 kilometres whichever is earlier.
