Volkswagen Up Sighted In Mumbai Before Auto Expo
The Volkswagen Up is a new small car that has been developed to cater to emerging markets such as India, Brazil and China. The Up was unveiled during the Frankfurt Auto Show where Volkswagen displayed both the five door variant bound for India and the three door variant to be sold in India. The Up will be available with both petrol and diesel engines.
It is surprising to see the Up without any camouflage as it has not been launched yet. Another surprising thing is that the car is a three door version while Volkswagen has said it will launch just a five door version here. The Up was expected to be on display at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi in January. This red Up could well be the car that we will see in Delhi.
The Up platform is also being used by Skoda and Seat. Skoda has already unveiled its version called the Citigo. The Skoda Citigo will be launched in 2014 in India.
