Renault's India Bound Small Car Is The Modus

Renault Modus
Renault, the french carmaker has earlier said it would be launching a small car early next year. A small car is very much essential for any carmaker to have a firm footing in India. Reports now say Renault will be launching the Modus small car making it the third car in its Indian portfolio.

Renault already sells the Fluence premium sedan and the Koleos SUV. The Modus will be expected to be launched in India during the first Indian Formula One Grand Prix. The Modus has already been spotted while being tested around Nissan Renault's plant near Chennai.

The Modus is already sold in several international locations in two variants, the Modus and the Grand Modus. The second variant is a slightly larger car and is not expected to be launched in India. The Modus will be powered by the same petrol and diesel engines seen in the Micra. The engines will be tuned differently to handle the weight and dimensions of the Modus.

We expect the Modus to be a very safe car considering it was the first car in Europe to get a five Star NCAP safety rating. It remains to be seen if Renault will retain all safety equipment as standard to keep its price down.
