Mini to Be Launched Sooner At Rs.25 Lakhs

The entire model line-up of Mini which consists of the Cooper, Countryman, Clubmand and Cabrio will be available in India. The Cooper is expected to be priced around Rs.25 lakhs while the top end Clubman will be priced about Rs.330 lakhs.
The Mini will be joining premium small car models the Volkswagen Beetle and Fiat 500 in India. The Beetle and the 500 have not had a huge success in terms of sales with VW registering 620 sales and 500 posting just 100 sales. However BMW is confident the Mini will have a better sales prospect as it believes the customer base has now changed and are ready to invest in small premium cars.
The Mini is one of Britain's most iconic car brands. Although BMW purchased the brand in the early nineties, the car's basic design and handling capabilities have remained the same. The exterior design is so iconic that some say even India's favourite hatchback, the Maruti Suzuki Swift also has some similarities. While the Mini in the sixties was a regular every day car, BMW has made it a bit more premium with several changes to the interior styling and engine options.
