Maruti Suzuki Ertiga R3 Set For Japanese Debut?

The Ertiga had impressed us Indians when it was first displayed during the previous Delhi Auto Expo as the R3 concept. Maruti Suzuki is reportedly building the Ertiga on the platform used for the Ritz. Some of the parts used for the new MPV will be taken from the new Swift too.
Suzuki, the parent company of Maruti Suzuki is keen to show off its new MPV in Japan where is is a distant fifth in the list of top carmakers. The Ertiga will be posing a challenge to Toyota's MPVs in Japan too.
We expect Suzuki to have a small launch in Japan before it shows it at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. If reports bout its power train options are to be believed, it will be powered by a diesel engine sourced from Fiat and a new K-Series petrol engine developed in house. We might have already seen this engine in the SX4.
