Audi Aiming At Business Class With Cheaper Q5

Audi India has said the new Q5 SUV will be sold from October. The carmaker's India chief Michael Perschke in his statement to the press said: “The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q is perfectly equipped to further strengthen our leadership position in the luxury SUV segment. As the Audi Q5 already has a broad fan base in India, this attractive price will now make this premium experience accessible to a wider customer base."
The Audi Q5 currently sold in India costs between Rs.39.06 lakh and Rs.45.12 lakhs (Ex-showroom price Mumbai). Mr Perschke has said the Q5 will help the German carmaker reach its goal of selling 5,000 cars in India this year. Audi had sold 3,003 cars in India last year.
Audi has already crossed last year's sales figure within the first seven months of this year. The new Q5 is expected to generate fleet sales from corporate buyers. We believe the new model will have fewer bells and whistles to accommodate the lowered price tag. The diesel engine is expected to be more frugal
Audi India is confident this new addition to its model line-up will generate expected results. Mr Perschke said: “Our focus is on strengthening our portfolio through the introduction of products like the Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q which are extremely relevant for India and also the expansion of our dealer network."
