Skoda Launches 4X2 Yeti At Rs.13.35 Lakhs
The Skoda Yeti 4X2 is powered by a 110bhp turbo diesel engine already seen in the Skoda Laura sedan. The engine is suitable for the Yeti and is very efficient too. The new Yeti is lighter as it does not have the four wheel drive system and the five speed manual also carries lesser weight. The gearbox is also cheaper than the six speed version seen in the four wheel drive Yeti.
Looking at the features of the Skoda Yeti 4X2, it comes with several safety features such as ABS, airbags and traction control. Other important features such as electronic differential locks, hill hold and hill descent are not available. As we said earlier this SUV is not for someone who is interested in serious off-roading. And lesser features also means lesser price.
The 4X2 Yeti will be available in two variants – the Yeti Active and the Yeti Ambition. The Active is cheaper the Yeti Elegance by as much as Rs.2 lakhs while the Ambition is priced about RS.1 lakh lower than the Elegance. However this price does not really translate in to improved sales prospects for the Yeti. The Yeti will remain more expensive than a much larger and more spacious SUV like the Mahindra XUV 500.
