Mercedes Launches Iconic G-Class AMG SUV
The G55 AMG is powered by a massive 5.5-litre V8 engine capable of generating 507bhp and 700Nm of torque. The G55 can accelerate to 100kmph from rest within 5.5 seconds despite its bulk. Mercedes-Benz has priced this SUV at Rs.1.10 crores ( ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The G-Class has been extensively used by several armies. Its rugged design and strong build quality ensure it can handle any type of terrain effortlessly. The AMG version adds to the power of the vehicle and this will be no slouch on the track.
Mercedes has equipped the 55 AMG with permanent all-wheel drive, the electronically controlled traction system 4ETS, ESP®, a "low-range" gearbox and three selectable differential locks to make it one of the most preferred off roaders in Europe.
Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing of Mercedes-Benz India while speaking at the launch said: “Globally, we have sold over 200,000 units of the G-Class till date. Mercedes-Benz is celebrating its 125th anniversary of its invention of the automobile. The G-Class is the longest-serving passenger car series in the 125-year history of Mercedes-Benz and it is fitting that the flagship model of the G-Class is introduced to mark the celebrations in India. At an aggressive price point of Rs.1.10 crores, the iconic G-Class has received significant interest from customers who want highest capabilities from their luxury SUV."
