Force Motors Set To Launch Hybrid Traveller

Force Motors, one of India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer has announced plans to launch a hybrid version of its top selling van Traveller. The Hybrid Traveller will be displayed first at the forthcoming Delhi Auto Expo and it will be then launched before the end of 2012.

Force Motors has had a long standing partnership with German auto major Daimler and the Hybrid Traveller is a result of this partnership. The Indian firm is developing the new vehicle under license of Daimler.

Force Motors Managing Director, Mr Prasan Firodia while speaking about the hybrid Traveller said: “ “We are showcasing a hybrid concept of the Traveller at the Delhi Auto Expo in January. It will be a parallel hybrid that utilises solar energy as well as has regenerative exhaust systems. We will commercially launch the vehicle within a year from now. This will be manufactured at our Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh."

The Traveller will also get a CNG option and this model will also be on show at the auto show in Delhi from January 5-11. Force Motors has also taken a license to produce a nine seater van which will be launched in India by 2013. This new vehicle is expected to be priced between Rs.12 lakhs and Rs.15 lakhs.
