Now Its the Swift Dzire's Turn To Catch Fire

A new car now joins the list of four-wheelers catching fire. A news report on NDTV has said a three month old Swift DZire caught fire in Mumbai and burned down completely. The fairly new DZire was being driven from Aurangabad to Mumbai.

The fire accident happened on Mumbai's Vikhroli expressway. The driver of the DZire said he found the engine to be over heating and immediately stopped the car. The car instantly caught fire and nothing could be salvaged. It is yet unclear what caused the fire.

The Swift DZire has been in the Indian car market since 2007 and there were no reports of such incidents before. A member of Team BHP has opined that there is a possibility of the recent strike at Manesar and the reports of sabotage by Maruti Suzuki's workers could have played a role in the DZire catching fire.

This is probably the first time a Swift DZire has been reported to have caught fire. All the recent reports of cars burning down was that of the Tata Nano.
