Maruti Challenges I10 With A-Star's Specs & Price

A-Star Vs I10
Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have been involved in a long tussle since the Korean carmaker entered the Indian car market with the Santro. Both the carmakers have been battling tooth and nail with every new car they launch. The competition between Maruti's Wagon R and The Santro is considered legendary

Maruti Suzuki which over took the Santro went on to launch the Swift. Hyundai responded to it with the i20. The Indian carmaker is now posing a serious challenge to Hyundai;'s i10 with its A-Star. The A-star is Maruti Suzuki's highest exported model. It is sold as the Alto in European and Asian countries

In a newspaper advertisement, Maruti Suzuki has compared the features of the A-Star and the Hyundai i10. The A-Star has ABS and EBD which assist in gaining control of the car during panic braking. The i10 does not come with both these safety equipment. Maruti claims the A-Star also has Total Effective Control Technology and Height adjustable driver's seat – another set of features that are missing in the i10.

The A-Star also has higher dimensions in terms of width, front track, rear track and ground clearance making it a little more roomier than the Hyundai i10. The higher front and rear track allow better handling and grip. The A-Star also gets a key off reminder that will add to the occupant's safety.

Finally the clincher for the Maruti Suzuki A-Star against the Hyundai i10 is its price. The A-Star costs Rs.4.48 lakhs 9ex-showroom price Bangalore) as against the Hyundai i10's price of Rs.5.15 lakhs. Added to this price difference Maruti Suzuki is also offering discounts to make the deal even more sweeter.
