First Indian Formula 1 Grand Prix Tickets On Sale

The first Indian Formula 1 is all set to race and the tickets are out. Tickets for the 2011 Airtel Indian GP were officially unveiled on 20th August and the first two tickets were handed over Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok – the only two Indian drivers who have managed to compete in Formula 1.

Tickets for the Airtel Indian GP are priced between RS.2,500 and Rs.35,000. They are already available in various online ticket websites. The Grand Prix weekend will be between 28th and 30th October at the Buddh International Circuit near New Delhi. The tickets will be for the whole weekend and you can enjoy the two practice sessions, the three qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday and the all important race on Sunday

Karun Chandhok who is currently driving for Team Lotus said: “It's a dream for any Indian driver to race in his first home Grand Prix. From April till now, we have been visiting and monitoring the progress at the circuit. The Indian GP is going to be a great challenge for the drivers. The circuit designers have taken the drivers' inputs on board and built a track which will be extremely challenging."

Veteran Indian Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan also speaking during the launch of the tickets said: “The designers have taken some of the best corners from different circuits around the world for BIC. There will be a lot of overtaking opportunities. It is going to be a great race, for sure."

The 2011 Airtel Indian GP will be the first time Indian Formula 1 enthusiasts can see all the Formula 1 cars live. There have previously been some publicity events by Formula 1 teams such as Force India and McLaren Mercedes during which the race cars were displayed and driven by team drivers.

There is a huge TV audience for Formula 1 in India. There are some enthusiasts who travel across the globe to witness the races. This is one chance in which all of us can grab with open arms and see the flaring red Ferraris, McLarens, Red Bulls and more importantly Force India cars vrooming at over 300kmph.
