Hyundai Launches LPG i10 Bluedrive At Rs.4.16L

The i10, Hyundai's highest selling hatchback, will be available with two LPG variants, the entry level Era and the top end Magna. The i10 Era is priced at Rs.4.16 lakhs and the i10 Magna is priced at Rs.4.3 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi). These two cars are about Rs.27,000 more expensive than the petrol variants. The LPG i10 is more fuel efficient than the petrol variant but the power output is slightly lower.
Hyundai will start receiving bookings for this new model from today itself and deliveries are expected to be made in a few weeks. The LPG i10 will more than make up the lack of a diesel engine with the i10. The cheaper fuel along with only a slight increase in price will mean the i10 LPG will be more accessible than diesel cars.
The Hyundai i10 LPG has a 34 litre factory installed LPG tank. This does not mean you have to go to a LPG station every now and then as Hyundai has also added a conventional petrol tank. The 35 litre petrol tank will ensure you can go on a long drive without worrying about finding an LPG fuel station. You can easily switch between the two fuels that you want to use just by switching a knob on the dash board.
The i10 Bluedrive becomes even more attractive due to the fact that Hyundai has added the alternator management system to the i10. The AMS is similar to the brake energy retention system used in Formula 1 cars. The AMS generates energy whenever the car decelerates and it is used to charge the car's batteries. There is a slight improvement in the i10's fuel economy due to this.
Drivespark.com will provide more updates on the LPG i10 in the near future.
