Do Not Buy Cars Until Next Year

The festive season that starts in Octobers, usually ends by Diwali. There is also a slight increase of discounts during Christmas but not after new year. Carmakers tend to push sales during the last three months of the year to reach their annual targets and offer freebies. But the buyer will end up with a car that has a lower resale value than a car that he can buy after three months.
The fact is cars are valued on the basis of their year of manufacture. A car that you buy in January 2011 or December 2011 will still be a 2011 car. Instead if you buy a car in January of 2012, you will be getting a 2012 car, which is at least on paper newer than the cars bought in 2011.
While most of us buy vehicles thinking about its current value, we also need to consider a time when we will be planning to sell it and buy a new one. This is when the time of your purchase will become crucial. If you have a 2011 model, you will be getting a lower resale value than the 2012 model. Considering this disadvantage we would suggest you can postpone the purchase of your car or bike until January next year.
Resale car value is determined by the year of purchase on not the year of purchase. So before making a final decision on buying a car during this festive season do understand the cost of buying a car this year itself.
