Honda Confirms New City Launch In December

New Honda City
The Honda City, India's highest selling mid level sedan will be getting its much needed facelift in India this December itself. The City's facelifted version was unveiled in September in Thailand but its launch in India was delyed due to the severe floods in Thailand. The City's launch has been recently confirmed by the Japanese carmaker.

The new Honda City will be unveiled in mid-December and sales could begin soon after., The new City from Honda will not get any technical updates. The sedan will retain its petrol engines but the changes will be entirely in its exterior design and interiors. The exterior gets a flashier look akin to Honda's American models while the interior has been refreshed.

The new Honda City's production has been hampered by the non availability of parts that were being sourced from Thailand. Production at Honda's plant in Thailand has been stopped completely. To counter this problem Honda intends to increase localisation of parts.

The Thai floods has affected production of all Honda models. The carmaker has decided to stop production at its plant near Noida until the situation improves. The new Honda City will be a looker for sure but it needs a much better push if it has to compete against other mid level sedans that are available with both petrol and diesel engines such as the Volkswagen Vento and the Toyota Etios.
