We are moments away from the launch of the new Nissan Sunny. The latest mid-level sedan to join the Indian car market will be launched at 3:30PM today, 20th September. Nissan, the Japanese carmaker is all set to bring the new Sunny sedan to the Indian car market. The new car will be launched this afternoon and you can watch it online here by clicking on the link.

The Nissan Sunny will be the carmaker's entry level sedan and has been built in Chennai. The Sunny is built on the platform of the Micra hatchback and will come with the same engine and transmission settings. The Sunny is expected to be priced between Rs.7 lakhs and Rs.9 lakhs.

The Sunny looks very similar to the Micra on the out side. The interior is also finished in biege plastics as we have seen in the hatchback. Nissan has surprised everyone by saying it would launch only the petrol version of the Sunny. The Sunny will be powered by a 1.5-litre 99bhp engine. With diesel car sales increasing sharply Nissan will be launching a diesel powered car later this year.

The Nissan Sunny will be competing a long list of mid level sedans such as the Maruti Suzuki SX4, Hyundai Fluidic Verna, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Ford Fiesta and the Fiat Linea. Nissan is hoping the Micra along with the Sunny will help it push its market share in India.
