Tata Motors Global Sales Down 6%

Tata Motors, the Indian auto major has suffered a six per cent drop in its global sales in July following a sharp decline in passenger car sales in India. Tata Motors' total global sales for the month stood at 85,392 units.

Sales of Tata Motors' British brands Jaguar and Land Rover remained flat at 19,119 units. While Jaguar sales fell by a massive 23 per cent to 4,372 units. Land Rover on the other hand saw its sales increase by 8 per cent to 14,747 units.

Tata Motors' passenger vehicle sales for July stood at 38,154 units witnessing a drop of 24 per cent. Commercial vehicle sales increased by 16 per cent to 47,238 units.

The Tata Motors Group's global sales comprise Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles, along with the distributed brands in India; Jaguar and Land Rover.
