Audi Recalls 2012 A6 sedan over Faulty Airbag

The A6 sedan is one of the most sought after premium sedans in the world and its recall can cause a dent in its image. However with the recall being announced before any fatality occurring, Audi has saved its face. The faulty air bag that has lead to the recall is a side curtain airbag. These airbags may not deploy properly in case of an accident. This is due to a error in the manufacturing process that happened on one day in one of Audi's plants.
Audi has said the side curtain airbags were not stitched properly and hence they could not work properly. All the models that are recalled as 2012 models built in the US. The carmaker has announced the recall by filing a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Audi has said this airbag issue could pose a serious threat to the occupants of the car depending on the seriousness of a crash. Audi has said it has instructed its dealers to replace the air bags as soon as possible and has added it will notify the owners of the recalled A6 sedans so that they can get their cars checked. The replacement will be free of charge and it will take about three hours to fix it.
