Tata Motors Posts Slight Increase In Global Sales
Tata Motors' commercial vehicle sales continued to improve registering a 17 per cent growth. Commercial vehicles include Tata, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera. Total sales stood at 48,023 units.
Passenger car sales continued to slide with august sales coming down by 11 per cent to 39,436 units. Cumulative passenger car sales fell by 9 per cent to 212,599 units. It might be noted that Tata Motors suffered a huge drop in passenger car sales in India, espacially that of the Nano small car.
Tata Motors' sales of Fiat vehicles in India also fell by 35 per cent to 18,194 units. Sales of Tata's british car brands Jaguar and Land Rover are as follows. Jaguar Land Rover Sales increased 31 per cent to 21,242 units. Jaguar has reported a 10 per cent decline in sales at 3,409 units. But Land Rover's sales have seen a positive jump of 43 per cent thanks to the recently launched Evoque. Cumulative sales of Jaguar are 19,124 nos., lower by 23%, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 83,327 nos., higher by 23%.
