Skoda Rapid Set To Be Launched Today

The Rapid's relationship with the Vento is not just that. Skoda and Volkswagen are part of the Volkswagen Group and both sedans share several parts between them. In fact several body panels used in the Rapid are from the Vento. Further The Rapid is built in VW's plant in Chakan and not in Skoda's plant in Aurangabad.
The Rapid will be available with the same power train options as the Vento. The petrol and diesel engines are the same. Skoda started production of the Rapid a month ago. This means several hundred Rapids are ready to roll out of showrooms soon after its launch. This will mean early birds will see a very short waiting period for the Rapid.
Carmakers are now starting production much in advance before a car's launch to ensure quick deliveries of cars. Toyota had dome the same before its launch of the diesel variants of the Etios and the Etios Liva. The waiting period of the Rapid can be expected to be low at least for the first week after its launch.
There is one good news for people interested in the Vento. There is a practice in the Volkswagen Group according to which a Skoda will be priced lower than a similar Volkswagen. This means the Rapid will be cheaper than the Vento it is based on. If you are one of them who were thinking the Vento was a bit too expensive, the Rapid could be the next best thing.
