Honda Posts 5,000 Brio Bookings Before Test Drives

The Brio's sales is increasing consistently with several people expressing interest to own the Honda small car. According to recent reports, bookings of the Brio have crossed more than 5,000 units even before it has been test driven. The Brio is yet to hit showrooms and has only been displayed at select locations. Honda is now expecting its annual sales to increase by as much as 15 per cent due to the arrival of the Brio.
The Brio is being booked quick and fast by customers who are impressed by the Brio's cute looks. The price of the Brio has been kept low and Honda is aiming first time car buyers.
The Brio is Honda's most inexpensive car and competes against the Hyundai i10, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Toyota Etios and the Nissan Micra. Powered by a 1.2-litre four pot IVTEC engine, the Brio offers powerful performance. The engine can churn out 88bhp at 6000rpm and 119Nm of torque at 4600rpm. The fuel economy has been pegged as 17 to 19kmpl despite the large powerful engine.
Honda Siel Cars India is celebrating the Brio's succes and do not be surprised if you get some fine goodies along with the Brio when you book one. The carmaker's Senior Vice-President, marketing and sales is quoted to have said; “We have launched the Brio at a competitive price due to our concerted efforts to control costs, maximize production efficiency and minimize impact of currency fluctuations. We have achieved this through pure localisation of critical components, using local suppliers, local materials and dies, by localised drawings and our Indian associates."
The Brio offer's Honda"s promise of reliability, quality and performance with ease. Being priced just over Rs.5 lakhs makes it a viable alternative to cars such as the i10 and the Swift. Do not be surprised if you start seeing more of this lovely small car on our roads in the times to come.
