Ford Offers Rs.75k Discount On New Fiesta Petrol
At a time when every rupee is being counted by car buyers, an expensive car is always a nono. Further when there are several models offering similar or even better products a higher price tag will become a huge drawback. To add to this, the disparity between petrol and diesl prices meant demand for diesel cars increased dramatically.
People are ready to buy the more expensive diesel cars rather than the cheaper petrol cars. Carmakers are in fact struggling to sell cars that are available with just petrol engines. While cars with both petrol and diesel engines, sales currently indicate 80 per cent are of diesel cars.
At this juncture carmakers have only one option that is to offer discounts on their petrol cars. The same seems to have happened with the Fiesta too. Ford has announced a RS.75,000 only for its petrol variant. The offer is being considered as an end of the year offer to push Ford's annual sales figures.
This is not the first time Ford is offering discounts to the Fiesta. It had already announced a Rs.50,000 discount in October. The current announcement is just a Rs.25,000 increase in the discount. The discounts does not mean the Fiesta is a bad car or is a difficult car to sell. Just that its high price makes buyers feel they can get a similar car for a cheaper price.
