Ashok Leyland Dost Available At Rs.3.79 Lakhs
The Dost is the first vehicle to have been developed after Ashok Leyland and Nissan Motors began their joint venture. The Dost promises Japanese quality along with an Indian price.
The Dost will be sold as an Ashok Leyland product in the south Indian states. The Dost can carry loads up to 1.25 tonnes and will be available in three variants. The top end variant of the Dost will have power steering, fabric seats and air conditioning.
The Dost will be built at Ashok Leyland's production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, which has a annu8al capacity of 55,000 units. The company is also considering to export the Dost light commercial vehicle to three international markets too.
Ashok Leyland and Nissan have said they would bo launching more commercial vehicles under the joint venture. The new models will be built at a plat at Sriperumbudur and will be medium and heavy commercial vehicles. The new models will be launched in mid 2012.
