Maruti Suzuki Offering 45,000 discount for A-Star

Maruti Suzuki was comfortably selling 4,000 A-Stars a month until May this year when sales fell by more than half to 1,734 units. Recent sales reports indicate A-Star sales have dropped below the 1,000 mark with July sales at just 779 units making it the worst performing Maruti Suzuki cars now.
Maruti Suzuki's decision to provide these discounts is not surprising considering the reduced sales of the A-Star. Car sales in general have also dropped since June and carmakers have already offering discounts to sustain sales.
However the sharp decline in the A-Star's sales is an indicator that there are some faults in the car. Here are some of the factors that might have affected the A-Star's Fortunes.
The major complaint against the A-star is the lack of space. The rear passengers will feel cramped.
The A-Star also has a small boot which reduces its practicality.
The Zen Estilo has managed to out sell the A-Star primarily because of its extra space.
Apart from the small boot in cramped interior space, the A-Star has some positives to boast about. The handling is very lively and the gearbox is responsive. The A-star is an ideal car for one or two people but not for a family. If you are single or newly married the you can take advantage of Maruti Suzuki's Rs.45,000 discount and grab this small car.
