Skoda Rapid Unveiled On NDTV Car And Bike Show
The Skoda Rapid is a car that will be sold as the replacement of the Octavia that was recently phased out. The Rapid was first displayed at the Frankfurt auto show as the Vision D concept and was a huge hit. The Rapid will be based on the Volkswagen Vento and is expected to be priced lower than the VW sedan.
The Skoda Rapid's launch in India is the first time the car has been shown in its final form. The European debut of the Rapid will be held at a later date. The Rapid is expected to be sold in Russia and China too. The Car and Bike show featuring the unveiling of the Rapid will be telecast on Saturday, 15th October at 1:30 PM and on Sunday at 7:00 PM. Do remember that it is a two part show and Sunday's episode will not be a rerun.
The Skoda Rapid has been called the Lauretta within the Volkswagen Group. Te name is a mix of the Skoda Laura and the Volkswagen Jetta.
