Mahindra To Launch Reva NXR Next Year
The Reva NXR has been under development from quite some time and there have been several sightings of the NXR when it was being tested around Bangalore. The NXR will replace the current REVAi. The REVAi despite offering an easy and hassle free driving experience is not such a practical car as it has space for two adults only. Further, the REVAi does not suit song distance journeys as it has a limited range of 80 kilometres.
Reva has tried to rectify these issues in the NXR by adding two mre adult seats. The NXR will remain a two door car and yet the rear cabin's space has been enhanced to accommodate two people or more luggage. The range has seen a spectacular two fold increase to 160 kilometres due to the improvement in the lead acid batteries.
The Reva NXR can also be considered sporty in comparison with the REVAi as it has a top speed of 104kmph. The NXR also gets a more edgy exterior design when compared to the boxy REVAi. The design is impressive, so is the range and the top speed. Bit the most important factor that will influence the success of the Reva NXR will be its price. If reports about the NXR's price are true, the electric car could be priced between Rs.4 lakh and Rs.5 lakh.
Such price will mean several city dwellers who do not use their cars for long distance travels might prefer to opt for the Reva NXR. The REVAi has already offered a cheap and problem free ownership experience and this alone can bring in several buyers. The prospect of a spacious car with one tenth the running costs of a petrol car is a mouth watering option indeed.
