Honda Recalls 347,000 Pilot SUVs

Honda Pilot Recall
Honda Motors has announced that it would be recalling about 347,000 Pilot SUVs globally after it found potential problems in its front seat belt. The Japanese carmaker has said most of the recalled Pilots were built at its US plant in Alabama.

Of the 347,000 Pilots to be recalled, 311,000 were sold in USA, 10,000 in Canada and 8,000 in Mexico.

Honda said the seat belts could disconnect in case of an accident and would lead to increased injuries. There have been no reports of injuries or deaths caused by this accident. However Honda has said this recall of the Pilot was a precautionary measure.

The process of the recall will take over a month's time and Pilot owners will be informed about the recall in writing from October.

This is Honda's second massive recall in September. It had earlier recalled more than 960,000 Jazz hatchbacks globally and more than 76,000 City sedans in India.

Last month Honda recalled more than 2.5 million cars globally to rectify a software problem that could damage transmissions.
