Tata Motors To Expand Nano Showrooms to 300

The leading Indian vehicle manufacturer wants to increase the number of exclusive Tata Nano showrooms from the current 83 to 300 by March 2012. This is a stiff target but the carmaker is keen to expand the presence of the Nano across the country.
The Nano has recently got an update in the form of the 2012 Nano and sales have increased considerably in November. However the carmaker wants to ensure there is a steady and sure growth in sales in the coming months by opening more showrooms. Tata Motors had decided to open exclusive showrooms of the Nano after it found several customers were opting for its other models in its regular showrooms.
The Nano with its comparatively low price will be attractive to car buyers in the rural and semi urban areas. But the sales were limited due to showrooms being too far away. If the 300 exclusive showrooms of the Nano perform as expected by Tata Motors we can definitely see more of the Indian small car across the country. The Nano is currently sold from 704 locations.
Tata Motors has taken upon itself a challenging task of boosting the Nano's sales in rural India where market Leader Maruti Suzuki has a firm presence. The Nano is also facing competition from other inexpensive small cars such as the Hyundai Eon.
