Renault Koleos Launched At Rs.22.99 lakhs
The Koleos is powered by a 2-litre common rail turbo diesel DCi engine paired with a six speed automatic gearbox. The engine can churn out 148bhp and 320Nm of torque. The power figures are not revolutionary by any chance. Yet it can accelerate to a top speed of 180kmph which is decent fore the Indian highways.
The Renault Koleos SUV is priced at Rs.22.99 lakhs which makes it more expensive than its top competitor, the Toyota Fortuner. This will mean Renault cannot expect it to sell as well as its competitors. The Koleos will also need to establish its brand image before it can be considered as a mainstream crossover.
Another important factor that will determine the success of the Koleos in India is the number of showrooms Renault has. The carmaker currently has 14 dealerships and is planning to expand it to 40. without a proper sales and service base Renault cannot expect the Koleos to be any where close to the market leader.
