Hyundai Set To Launch 15 New Cars In India

The India market which was considered to be the fastest growing car market in the world in 2010 has shown a paltry 1.84 per cent increase in passenger car sales in the first six months of the financial year. Hyundai believes new models and face lifts are the only ways of maintaining the excitement in the market.
The Hyundai Eon has been the Korean carmaker's latest launch. It is expected to be followed by the launch of a executive sedan above the Verna. Hyundai might launch itsi35 and ix35 – two models that have performed well in Europe. Reports also say Hyundai wants to enter segments that it did not have a car in the next few years.
The Santa Fe is the only SUV it has in India and that is also imported from Korea. The carmaker wants to build low cost SUVs in India to have a greater say in the market. Speaking about Hyundai's plans, its vice-president sales and marketing, Arvind Saxena said: “he excitement in the market is derived out of only new models and the facelifts, so you have to be continuously working towards it."
Other new models that will be launched in the coming days will be face lifter versions of the Hyundai i10 and the i20. The carmaker is keen to make a stronger effort towards overtaking India's market leader Maruti Suzuki by launching new models. However the Korean carmaker will face stiff competition from other foreign carmakers too.
Ford has said it will be launching eight new models in India. General Motors also has said it will launch 8-10 cars and SUVs. Nissan and Renault also plan to launch 15 new modes in the coming few years.
We only hope so many new models do not confuse the consumer.
