Bajaj To Display Improved Low Cost Car In Delhi

However there were signs of the relationship between Bajaj and Renault-Nissan being strained after the Franco Japanese duo of carmakers expressed doubts about the Bajaj car's quality and reliability. Bajaj Auto had then stated it would continue development of the car. There seems to be some sort of development with this new small car and Bajaj is all set to display an improved version at the forth coming Delhi Auto Expo.
The Bajaj low cost car was expected to hit the roads by 2012 but that has been delayed due to several reasons. The lukewarm response to the Tata Nano by the Indian car buyer might be one of the reason. Another reason could be that Bajaj wants to overtake the Nano in terms of fuel economy and is aiming at having a car that offers 30kmpl as against the Nano's 25kmpl. Bajaj wants to gain the confidence of its alliance partners and and such mileage will definitely help..
Sources from Delhi say Bajaj Auto will only display the concept version of its low cost car and will not be displaying its two wheelers. The company was expected to unveil a new version of the Pulsar and also launch KTM's bikes in India. But Bajaj is trying to highlight the car more than its successful motorcycles.
