Mahindra Confirms Reva NXR Launch In Six Months

Rajan Wadhera, chief executive, technology, product development and sourcing, Mahindra and Mahindra, who is one of the top people handling the Reva NXR project has also said the new electric car will be able to carry four occupants easily and would be a vehicle that will have features found in regular cars.
Elaborating further Mr Wadhera while speaking to IANS said: “It's gonna be a four seater car. We have developed it be like a proper car with space, power and other features." Mr Wadhera did not disclose the price of the Reva NXR but only said it was being developed as a cost effective electric vehicle for the country.
He stated: “Electric cars are a bit on the high side of price due to technology. But we are trying to develop it as a very cost effective vehicle." The Reva NXR is expected to deliver a longer range that the current Reva. The NXR is expected to push the sales of Mahindra Reva which is managing monthly sales of just 50 units.
The current Reva is also being sold in the UK as the G-Wiz. The reva is still India's only passenger electric car. Mahindra took over Reva in 2009 and has since invested in to new product development. The Reva NXR will be the first of several new electric cars to roll out form Mahindra Reva.
