Gumpert Launches Apollo Sports Car In India

Drivespark had previously reported about the launch of the Range Rover Evoque, a premium SUV from Tata Motors owned Land Rover. Now the latest new launch is from little known German sports car maker Gumpert. Gumpert has made its foray in to India by launching its Apollo sports car with a whopping price tag of Rs.5 crores.
Gumpert is famous in Europe as a maker of fast powerful sports cars. The Gumpert Apollo is powered by 4.2-litre V8 engine that generates a earth curdling power of 650bhp and a massive torque of 850Nm. The Apollo can sprint to 100kmph even before you realize you have pressed the accelerator.
The focus on speed is so high in the Gumpert Apollo that even the interior fittings have been kept light. There are no luxury fittings too. The company has said it wants to build cars that offer the best handling and speed
Gumpert has tied up with InterGlobe Group to market the Apollo in India. The Apollo is said to have a top speed of 320kmph which is the top speed of a regular Formula 1 car. With the Indian grand prix already completed, we guess the Apollo can be driven at its full potential on the track.
