Mitsubishi Mirage
Mitsubishi, the Japanese carmaker which recently unveiled its Mirage has bigger plans for the small car. Reports coming in from Tokyo suggest Mitsubishi also wants to make a sedaan version of the Mirage by 2012. The Mirage small car will be built at Mitsubishi's plant in Thailand next year but a sedan version is already in the pipe line.

The Mitsubishi Mirage is being considered as a car that can help the Japanese carmaker make a mark for itself in the Indian market. It is expected to be priced around $15,000 in the US which will mean it will be priced similar to the Nissan Micra.

Mitsubishi has said it decided to develop a sedan version of the Mirage so that it can be more attractive to young families. The small car is expected to be displayed at the forthcoming Delhi Auto Expo. The Mirage can be a great car for a country like India thanks to its size and price.

Mitsubishi will begin commercial sales of the Mirage small car in late 2012 and might launch the sedan version in 2013. The Mirage is powered by an all new 1 litre three-cylinder petrol engine with MIVEC variable valve timing, an idle-stop system, and continuously variable transmission (CVT). for a sub-3.4 litre per 100km fuel consumption average will be the mainstay power plant globally.

Mitsubishi is also planning to build an electric version of the Mirage but an official announcement has not been made.
