Audi's August Sales Double; Yearly Sales Up 95%

Audi, the German premium carmaker has reported that its sales for the month of August had increased by a massive 104 per cent continuing its trend of improving monthly sales. Audi India has said it sold 510 cars this August as against the 250 cars it sold in August 2010.

Audi India has also posted positive sales figures for year on year sales between January and August. The German premium carmaker has so far sold 3,655 cars registering a growth of 95 per cent.

Audi India chief Michael Perschke in its statement said: “India is well ahead of other growth markets for Audi globally, and we are confident that we are on track with our vision of being the No 1 luxury car manufacturer in India latest by 2015. While other players in the Indian market are currently reviewing their targets downward, we are confident, that we will exceed our set target of 5,000 Audi"s this year."

Audi is planning to increase its number of showrooms to 25 by the year 2012, The carmaker will also expand its product portfolio by launching the Q3 premium SUV next year.
