Mercedes-Benz Year On Year Sales Up 40%; August 7%
The C-Class sedan was Mercedes-Benz's best selling model in August with 319 sales. It was followed by the E-Class sedan which registered 189 units. Mercedes-Benz's premium SUV. The ML-Class and the GL-Class accounted for a total of 59 sales. The S-Class Limousine registered 22 sales.
The German carmaker recently launched the latest 20125 C-Class Executive sedan. Debashis Mitra, the director, marketing and sales at Mercedes-Benz said: “ The New C-Class, with its complete redesign both external and internal, will continue to set newer benchmarks in design, quality and luxury for the segment. With features that are stylish and luxurious like the first ever Panaromic Sunroof in this segment, this latest generation of the best-selling Mercedes model offers the highest level of remarkable driving experience to the Indian consumer."
Speaking about the company's sales performance, Mr Mitra said: “The growing preference amongst customers for a premium brand like Mercedes-Benz reiterates their faith in our exciting product offering, world class after sales service and our impeccable brand value. With the launch of the exciting New C-Class and an aggressive launch calendar this festive season, we are bullish to retain the ongoing good momentum. Overall we are going good and well on course towards achieving our targets and do not see the need to revise them."
The German carmaker has expressed its desire to regain its position as India's top selling premium carmaker. Mercedes-Benz has been overtaken by its German counterpart BMW.
