Honda's Indian subsidiary Honda Siel Cars India will carry out the recall. In its statement, HSCI said: “HSCI is carrying out the part replacement as part of a global exercise by Honda Motor Company to ensure stringent quality standards for its products"

There have been no reports of accidents or damage caused by the faulty switch in the power windows. However the recall was launched to prevent any untoward incidents, the company said. Other models that will come under the purview of this recall will be the CRV SUV and Jazz hatchback. However, the CRV and Jazz sold in India will not be part of the global recall.
