Rolls-Royce Ghost Recalled Due To Defect

Rolls-Royce Ghost Recall
The Rolls-Royce Ghost, the British luxury car is now under the recall cloud after the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said these cars could also be having the same problem as the one seen in the recently recalled BMW cars. All Ghost built in the year 2010 are suspected to have a problematic auxiliary water pump. This pump has been used in all V12 powered BMWs and Rolls-Royces.

We had earlier reported that BMW was recalling over 32,000 cars across the globe in the wake of problems in the auxiliary water pumps used in the radiator. There have been no reports of either BMW or Rolls-Royce having caught fire or any other untoward incident happening. However BMW, which owns Rolls-Royce had decided to recall all affected cars.

While it was bilieved the faulty pump was used in BMWs, the Rolls-Royce Ghost is also powered by a V12 engine developed by BMW. An investigation by BMW revealed the possibility of a similar fault in the Ghost which has resulted in a decision to recall all Ghosts built between September 2009 and September 2010.

Rolls-Royce will be informing customers about the recall and will be replacing the auxiliary water pumps at the closest Rolls-Royce Showroom. The BMW cars that are being recalled are the BMW 5-Series, 5-Series Gran Turismo, BMW X5, X6 and BMW 7-Series.
