Range Rover Evoque Launched At Rs. 44.75 Lakhs!

The higher price is due to the fact that the Evoque will be imported as a CBU (completely built unit) from Britain while its competitors are being assembled in India. The Evoque is priced closer to the larger BMW X5 and Audi Q7. There were reports that the Evoque could also be built at Tata Motors' plant near Jamshedpur. But the Indian carmaker appears to have shelved these plans at least for this year.
Coming back to the Evoque, it has a far more aggressive look and design than its competitors. Its interiors are nothing short of being cool with a smart media interface and several cameras to see the outside world. The seats are plush and comfortable. You get access to several gadgets on which you can spend hours getting to know all their features.
The exterior design is very sporty with the familiar Land Rover maze grille and large LED headlamps. The rear design is dominated by the floating roof which appears as though it has ended abruptly at the end. The wheel arches are large and make the Evoque look even more sporty.
The Evoque is now available with a diesel engine for the five door variant and the three door variant is powered only by a petrol engine. The three door variant of the Evoque will be a much wanted car for its unique door design. However its petrol engine means there could be a slight hesitation in buyers before buying it.
The diesel engine powering the Evoque is a 2-litre petrol version capable of generating 240bhp and 340Nm. The diesel engine on the other hand is a potent 2.2-litre turbocharged unit that churns out 190bhp and 420Nm. The engines are mated to a six speed automatic gearbox that has been tuned to provide optimum performance along with improved fuel economy.
