Audi's Electric Urban Concept Is Something Special

The Audi Urban concept is a simple two seater with a peculiar design, which will notice in the image. It was first displayed during this year's Frankfurt Auto Show. The car is powered by two electric motors that send power to the rear wheels. This small battery operated car is built entirely of carbonfibre reinforced plastic.
If you are wondering such expensive material is used for an electric car, that too a two seater, the answer lies in Audi's quest to get most performance from the Urban concept. Audi has ensured the Urban weighs just 480kg. This allows the car to reach speeds up to 100kmph.
The low weight followed by the small size will ensure the Urban will be a perfect city car. It also has a tighter turning radius ensuring nimble handling across slow traffic. Audi has used large 21 inch wheels and thin tyres to ensure a quick drive. The battery used in the car can be charged within one hour making recharging a simple affair.
Audi has ensured the Urban is also a safe car by having crumple zones in the front and the rear. The Audi electric car also has two airbags. The Urban concept is a futuristic car that can see success in urban conditions. Audi has not said if it will be making a production ready car.
