Maruti Suzuki October Sales Collapse 52%

Maruti Suzuki failed to push sales during this festive season despite increased discounts. A senior company executive has said the average discounts per car rose from Rs.9,500 to Rs.13,500. Yet sales fell by more than 50 per cent.
The strike at Manesar has severely affected the production of the Swift hatchback. The Swift had more than one lakh bookings when the third strike started and production is yet to reach normal levels. The strike primarily affected the Maruti Suzuki's hottest selling cars, the Swift and Swift DZire.
Maruti's Sales have been falling since the past three months. Other major carmakers are also expected to post reduced sales as the festive season did not see much activity as expected.
