Volvo Hopes For Rise In Sale Of Buses
Volvo, one of the leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and known for its luxury coaches in India, is expecting a 25-30 percent increase in its revenue for 2010. According to Volvo Buses managing director Akash Passey , the growth is coming out from the coach sector and Volvo is happy to see private coach sector making a comeback. He also added that, Volvo is looking to sell around 550-600 units and mainly 80 per cent of its business will come from coaches.
Volvo's last years bus sales figures revealed the fact that, majority of Volvo buses are purchased by public transport corporations. But, this year, with increasing demand in private sectors, Volvo is expecting a growth to come from coaches segment. Volvo has recently sold many coaches in Rajasthan, Kerala and Bangalore, where the sales have picked up considerably, according to Passey.
