VW Group Targets Double Sale Figure

The promoter of luxury cars Audi and Skoda in India, Volkswagen expects that its sale for this year may peak by double digit- from 19,000 to 40,000. The sale comprises three brands and the company is pinning on this rise due to its export venture, said its MD for VW India.

India comes after China in terms of luxury car segment, he added. The facilities of the company in Pune and Aurangabad have the capacity of 1.10 annual units making no need for any other investment other than Rs 3,800 crore. The Pune facility makes Skoda Fabia, Vento and Polo while the Aurangabad unit takes care of assembling Skoda, VW and Audi. He said the next major step is to vigorously expand the dealer network.
