Volkswagen Opens To Develop Products

By By: Vicky.in

Volkswagen India is ready to produce vehicles in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki India for the domestic market. According to Christian Klinger, the Management Board Member of Volkswagen, there will be some projects which will hit the Indian market, but he cannot confirm the possibility of developing products together with Maruti right now. Klinger said that although all car makers make small cars, its only Suzuki that is making lot more money in both India and Japan which is the Asian Market.

While Volkswagen's technology attracts Suzuki, Maruti Suzuki's leadership in small car maker attracts the German car maker. So, both of the companies will focus on leveraging each other strengths. Volkswagen has bought 19.9% stake in the Suzuki Motor Corporation for 2.5 billion dollars last year, hence, the Indian partnership will strengthen the global ventures between the two companies.

Volkswagen and Suzuki's officials have met few months back and explored synergies in manufacturing and designing of vehicles, and there is one synergy that could be at the suppliers level. Volkswagen wants to come out when the projects have a certain degree of realisation. So in the coming days, we may get more information on what projects and products will be executed together by the German car maker and the Japanese car maker in our country.
