Vehicle Sales Growth Is 31.50 Percent

The total sales of trucks, passenger cars and two wheelers of the nation during July 2010 registered 31.50 percent to 12,37,461 units in July against 9,41,070 units in July 2009. Among the commercial vehicles segment, 51,481 units were sold last month, which is a 36.99 percent rise as against the 37,580 units in July 2009.

The two wheelers in July increased 30.41 per cent to 9,38,514 units from 7,19,656 units in July 2009.
According to the figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) today, motorcycle sales in the country grew by 30.09 per cent to 7,10,621 units during the month under review from 5,46,233 units in the same month last year.

Domestic passenger car sales jumped by 37.95 per cent to 1,58,764 units in July compared to 1,15,084 units in the same month last year.

The introduction of new models, growing economy and increasing buying potential of the people, has made a great impact in the automobile business in spite of threats like fuel price hikes and vehicle price hikes.
