VECV To Start Pilot Project For Eicher Products

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) is exploring on a pilot project to trade Eicher branded products by utilising Volvo's market in Indonesia within a couple of months from now.

According to VECV CEO Vinod Aggarwal, VECV is exploring Volvo's network for exporting Eicher products and the company is looking at Indonesia to start with where VECV will launch a pilot project in the next 2-3 months with two-three vehicles. He also added that VECV will export medium duty Eicher branded commercial vehicles from the existing range to Indonesia. And the company is also looking for other regions in South-East Asian countries, Africa and the Middle-East countries.

Volvo Eicher is expecting about 50% of its total sales coming from exports by 2015 and during the last fiscal, it has sold 24 thousand units, out of which about 8-9 per cent was exported. During the first seven months of 2010, VECV has sold about 21,500 units, registering a massive 80-90 per cent growth over the same period in 2009.
