Toyota Prius – World's First Hybrid Electric Car

Toyota Prius is World's first full Hybrid Electric Passenger car. Hybride Electric combines internal combustion engine with an electric propultion system which allows economic usage of fuel and also makes the car run smoother even on tough roads. With the fuel prices at the hike in every budget session, Tiyota Prius comes as a relief to all.

Toyota Prius was first introduced in Japan in 1997 and gained maximum popularity. By 2001 it had fans all over the World and was sold in more than 40 countries, North America being the major market. The maximum sale of Prius was in 2009 with a revenue of 2.1 Milon in America alone.

Toyota is expected to launch in India in 2010 depending on the market condition. The car was to launch in 2009 itself but due to some unfavorable conditions was detained.

The problem seem to be with the import duty which India is charging. Thus the launch of Toyota Prius in India is yet not scheduled.
