Toyota Etios Launch In India

Toyota Etios was launched in India in an event held in Bangalore on the 1st of December. The vent witnessed the launch of Etios Sedan and the unveiling of Etios Hatchnack. With the introduction of Toyota Etios in India, Toyota has made it's mark in the low-priced car market in India.

Toyota Etios Hatchback model will be launched in India in April 2011. Toyota Kiloskar, a joint venture between the Japanese car maker and the Indian Kirloskar group, will be promoting the Etios in India.

Toyota President assures the smooth sale of Toyota Etios on Indian roads by revealing that before the launch, the car has been rigorously tested on Indian roads, covering an area of 200,000 KM. It has been tested on all kind of roads. Hiroshi Nagakawa, Managing Director of Toyota Kiloskar says that the company aims to sell 70,000 units of Etios in 2011.

“We at Toyota say that the road makes the car, and the Etios is a product of real world testing on roads throughout India. We have driven the Etios across more than 2,00,000 kilometers of Indian roads," Toyoda said.

The 1.5-liter gasoline-powered Toyota Etios sedan has been competitively priced at Rs. 4.9 lakhs for the base variant at showrooms in New Delhi. The top-end version will cost Rs 6.86 lakh.
