Toyota Corolla Altis Diesel Faces Stiff Competition
According to Sandeep Singh, the deputy MD of Toyta Kirloskar Motors, the monthly sales average of Corolla Altis will increase from 800 to 1100 units and the company hopes the sales of diesel Altis will boost the volumes during the initial months and later both petrol and diesel variants will stabilise and stay equally later.
Ankush Arora, the sales and marketing Head for General Motors in India mentioned that the share of diesel version in the premium sedan segment has been rising steadily, especially after the launch of Cruze.
Honda Civic, Skoda Laura, Volkswagen Jetta are already the options available in the Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 lakh range in the premium sedan division and due to the boom in the country's economy, almost 3000 units are sold every month and this will hopefully increase in the coming months.
The 1.4 L diesel on Corolla Altis will be more fuel efficient and the performance will also be commendable. With increase in demand of diesel variants, Toyota Corolla Altis will attract more buyers than the petrol-driven premium sedan cars.
